Robotics Process Automation (RPA), in particular, has become a game-changer for many industries. RPA software essentially helps integrate organizational processes with robotic and AI operations. It automates repetitive and labor-intensive tasks, reducing the need for human intervention and boosting efficiency on the factory floor.
However, the real magic happens when RPA meets AI. A couple of emerging trends caught my eye:
RPA and AI Integration: This allows for high-volume, repeatable tasks to be handled by robots, reducing labor costs and speeding up workflows. It's also simplifying the field of robotics, as different teams can now use the same software for factory automation systems and RPA.
Autonomous Operation: We're seeing robots operate in open, uncontrolled spaces. Self-driving cars are a prime example of this, but AI is needed to take robotics to the next level, dealing with countless parameters and variables in real-time.
Neurosymbolic AI: Peter Stone, Executive Director at Sony AI America, predicts this is the next big thing in AI and robotics. It involves integrating neural networks with other AI algorithms for applications beyond the capabilities of any single approach.
Claims Processing: Companies are using RPA to automate actions such as understanding screen content, completing keystrokes, and extracting data. Healthcare is one sector where it's being used to validate and process patient claims.
Job Candidates Screening: AI robotics can sift through hundreds, even thousands, of resumes to find potential job candidates. Amazon, for instance, uses RPA to identify priority candidates by scanning and selecting resumes.
The future of RPA and AI in robotics looks exciting. What do think?.
